On behalf of the administration and faculty, welcome to Saints Tabernacle Day School!
Our school motto is “Amazing Things Happen Here!”

We are excited about seeing everyone on our first day of school, Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 from 8:30am-3:00pm. There is no Before or After Care on the first day of school. Students should enter the yard no earlier than 8:20am and students along with parents will be directed to the school gym for a brief assembly at 8:30am. During our assembly, parents will be introduced to the staff, review important reminders and school expectations and briefly visit your child’s classroom. This assembly and meet and greet is scheduled from 8:30am-8:55am.
What Happens on the First Day of School
After the first day assembly, students will be directed to their classrooms to unpack their school supplies. At 10:00am, all students and faculty will attend a morning assembly in the Gym to review school-wide rules and expectations. At the end of the assembly, students will return to their classroom.

Visits to My Child’s Classroom
Are parents and family members allowed to visit the classrooms?
Although our school has an open-door policy, visitors are not allowed in the school during school hours. Should you need a meeting with the Principal or your child’s teacher, please contact the school at 215-548-6011 to schedule a conference.

Attendance
Daily attendance and punctuality is expected for every student. Absences are excused for illness accompanied by a doctor’s note (if a child is absent for 3 or more consecutive days) and an email/ClassTag message to your child’s teacher or to our school attendance email; stdsattendance@gmail.com. Students are required to complete 180 days of school each school year. Students failing to meet the attendance requirement are in danger of repeating their grade. Saints Tabernacle Day School reserves the right to dismiss students based on poor attendance. We are also required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and DHS to report cases of truancy.
Will my child be responsible for the work that they miss when they are absent?
Yes. The teachers at Saints Tabernacle Day School understand that we are experiencing very uncertain times and know that emergencies and illnesses related to Covid-19 affect attendance. Parents must contact their child’s teacher through email or ClassTag to review missed assignments.

What do I need to do once my child returns to school after an absence(s) due to an emergency or COVID-19 related illness?
In order to ensure that absences are properly excused, please send written communication to stdsattendance@gmail.com giving the dates of absences, the reason for the absence, and your child’s full name and Grade. If an email is not received within 48 hours of an absence, the absence will be marked as “unexcused.” Absences for 3 consecutive days must be accompanied by a “physician’s note.”
Arrival
School begins promptly at 8:30am. If a student is not enrolled in our Before Care program but wishes to eat breakfast, they can arrive as early as 8:00 am without beingcharged a Before Care fee. Students not enrolled in our Before Care program will not be admitted into the building. If your child is admitted, you will be charged the weekly Before Care fee of $45.00. Saints Tabernacle Day School does NOT offer Before Care
drop-in service or daily Before Care rates. Students arriving after 8:45am will be marked as late. Students arriving after 9:00am must enter through the Main Office where a parent needs to sign them in to school.
Ongoing latenesses affect the instruction time in a classroom and disrupts the flow of learning. Students who are consistently late miss important fundamental instruction in the morning. If a student has excessive latenesses, a conference will be scheduled with the parent and a tardiness warning issued. Disregard for the attendance policy may result in dismissal from the school.
Students with a doctor’s/dentist appointment or school testing are admitted after 9am but no later than 11am. Parents must notify the classroom teacher and/or send a message through Procare informing us of the appointment. A doctor’s/dentist or school testing note needs to be sent in for admittance. Students arriving at or after 10am due to a doctor’s/dentist appointment must bring their own lunch since lunch counts are entered at 9am each morning.
Lunch
Will students eat lunch in the cafeteria?
Yes. All students have a 45 minute lunch period from 12-12:45pm. All students will eat lunch in the lunchroom at assigned class tables. Your child has the option of bringing their own lunch or getting school lunch. Lunch counts are taken at 9am each morning.
Is Recess Mandatory?
Yes. The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires at least 15 minutes of outdoor free time for children daily unless the weather does not permit. If the weather doesn’t permit, students will have recess indoors.

Does Saints Tabernacle Provide Lunch for Students?
Yes. All students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. Students can opt to bring their own lunch but it has to be a cold lunch. We are unable to heat individual lunches for students. We do not allow students to store their lunches in the refrigerator. All students should have a cold pack in their lunch bag.
Can students choose to eat the school lunch on some days and bring a lunch on other days or must they commit to one or the other?
Yes. Students have the option of bringing lunch or eating the school lunch on a daily basis. Lunch menus for the month will be sent home on the first day of school and posted on the parent bulletin board located at the Academy Entrance. Students receive a copy of the Breakfast and Lunch menus at the beginning of each month.

Can I bring lunch for my child?
Yes. If a student leaves their lunch and a parent or adult needs to bring their lunch to them, simply send a message on Procare no later than 9:15am, or call the office so that your child isn’t included in the lunch count. Your child’s lunch needs to be brought to the front office by 10:00am. If a parent does not call by 9:15am, your child will be added to the lunch count. If you inform us that your child does not need a school lunch but you are unable to bring your child’s lunch, we will not be able to provide lunch as all lunches
are accounted for and prepared based on the lunch count taken at 9:15am.

Is lunch delivery allowed from food delivery apps/services such as Uber Eats or Doordash?
No. For the health and safety of all students, Saints Tabernacle does not allow outside food delivery services to “drop off” delivery food to students. If your child forgot their lunch at home and a parent/guardian is unable to bring them lunch by 10am, please notify the Main Office or the Principal and your child will be added to the lunch count. There are NO exceptions to this policy.

Will the tables be wiped down and disinfected daily?

After Care Program
Is After Care contracted for the entire school year?
No. We understand that many families have rotating schedules and their needs change accordingly. Aftercare is billed by request and can be stopped at any time. Our Aftercare fee is due on Mondays but must be paid no later than Tuesdays to avoid a $30 late fee. Aftercare fees are billed through Procare. Students attending both Before and Aftercare receive a discount. Please see our tuition and fees sheet for more details. Students picked up after 3:15pm will be billed at the late fee of $1 per minute. A parent cannot decide at that time that their child will do Aftercare for the week.

What are the hours for Aftercare?
Students are escorted to the gym at 3:00pm and are served a snack/meal. After cleaning-up, students go to their Aftercare teacher to begin homework. Our commitment is that students complete 45 minutes of their homework during Aftercare. This means that students may still have homework that needs to be completed once they leave. Aftercare runs from 3:00pm-6:00pm Monday to Friday.
Curriculum
Our school takes an individualized approach to education. We understand and believe that all children CAN learn. Through a combination of small classrooms and filling skill gaps first before moving on to grade level skills, our students improve academically and we see improvements in their confidence.
Because some students enter our program below grade level, our school does not employ one set curriculum program. We use a range of online programs, workbooks and worksheets to help our students improve.Your child’s teacher will give access to the online platforms that are used to support the lessons taught. The most common curriculum used by the staff is the Common Core Curriculum. Our school uses McGraw Hill workbooks and textbooks for Math, Spelling/Phonics, and Reading.
Will My Child Have Other Classes Besides the Core Classes?
Students receive weekly instruction in Gym, Art, and Spanish. Depending on staffing availability, students may also receive Music education. Upon registering for school, students receive a Gym Sweatshirt/T-shirt which needs to be worn on field trips and for Gym class. All returning students pay a $50 return registration fee and all new incoming students pay a $150 new student registration fee.
Are Uniforms Mandatory?
Students are required to wear their uniforms each day to school. The school uniform is as follows:
Girls - Dark Blue Jumper Dress/Skirt and Light Blue Peter Pan Collar Shirt with Blue/Black Tights/Stockings and Blue/Black Shoes.
Boys: Dark Blue Uniform Pants/Shorts and Light Blue uniform shirt, and Dark Blue Uniform Ties with Blue/Black Socks and Blue/Black Shoes. Students wear their Gym T-Shirt/Sweatshirt and blue sweatpants/shorts and blue/black sneakers on gym days. We understand that students often want to wear trending sneakers/shoes that do not align with the uniform policy;however, your cooperation is not only expected but required. Our school offers several dress down days throughout the year which gives your child an opportunity to dress down.
Phone Policy
Students are not allowed to use their phones during the school day. For emergencies, or messages that need to be sent to a student, please call the Main Office at 215-548-6011 or send a message on Procare to the principal, Ms. Nicole. Our school phone policy is enforced to protect the privacy of the students in our school, and to ensure that your child is focused in school.
