Celebrating the Sabbath
“Come unto me…and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
"...the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him." John 4:23
The Master’s Plan ~ Man’s Plan
"In the beginning Yahweh created the heaven and the earth." "And on the seventh day He ended his work which he had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And Yahweh blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it." Genesis 1:1; 2:2, 3.
Yahweh made the Sabbath at the time of Creation, after He made the world and everything in it. Yahweh rested on the Sabbath and blessed and sanctified it (set it apart for a righteous use). "And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath:"
What would Yahweh do?
In John 15:10 Yahweh said "I have kept my Father's commandments" and we can also find from scripture that Yahweh attended the assembly on the Sabbath day.
"And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read." Luke 4:16
Is it important to keep the true Sabbath?
By keeping the Sabbath set-apart, as He commanded us, we show our love for Him and give recognition of His authority in our life. "Whosoever believeth that Yahweh is the born of Elohim: and every one that loveth Him that begat loveth Him also that is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Yeshua, and keep His commandments. For this is the love of Yahweh, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous." 1 John 5:1
